Finalmente o teleférico do Morro da Providência vai ser colocado em operação pela Prefeitura do Rio. Faz 13 meses que foi concluído e não havia nem sinal de início de atividades para facilitar a vida dos moradores daquela comunidade, que fica lá no alto. O consórcio que administra o Porto do Rio vai se incumbir de operar o sistema. Em caráter experimental, o teleférico vai operar em horário reduzido.
The cable-car system that will connect the Central railroad station area to the Providência Hill is finally going to start operating by the city administration. It has been 13 months since the tranportation system was concluded but there was no sign of the cable-cars starting to work, what would ease people´s lives, especially those that live up on the hill. The city operating company will take over the transportation service in an experimental mode and it will be working under a s pecial time schedule.
